BooksByLunch

Privacy

BooksByLunch is run by the makers of NoRekey, and NoRekey does the converting. This page covers what BooksByLunch itself does. Everything after that is covered by NoRekey's privacy policy (opens in a new tab).

Your statement

When you upload a PDF, it passes straight through this site to NoRekey for conversion. BooksByLunch doesn't keep a copy. NoRekey deletes the PDF as soon as the conversion finishes.

The converted rows are kept for up to an hour so you can download your spreadsheet, then deleted.

If your PDF is password-protected, the password is used once to open it and never stored.

Who processes it

NoRekey converts statements using an AI extraction service. Its privacy policy lists every service involved and what each one does: norekey.com/privacy (opens in a new tab).

Your IP address

To allow one free statement a day, we keep a scrambled (hashed) version of your IP address in memory and forget it after 24 hours. It's never written to disk or shared.

If you answer “who are they for?” to unlock two more statements, your answer is kept with it and forgotten at the same time. We also count the answers, with nothing that identifies you, to learn who the site is for.

Cookies and tracking

None. No cookies, no analytics and no ads, which is why there's no cookie banner.
